Petite Panthere Ring

This bold and beautifully stylized panther head ring in 18k gold, circa 2000, is clearly inspired by Cartier's famous Panthere Collection which debuted in 1935. The panther head here, is realized in high polish, high carat yellow gold, with flat ears and brilliant cut diamond eyes. Designed as a nod to the hitching post, the panther hold a golden ring in her mouth.

The piece is petite in scale but strong in presence, with the kind of confident design that defines the best of French fine jewelry from this era.
