Georgian 15k Long Guard Chain

The long guard chain emerged in the Georgian and Victorian era as a brilliant marriage of utility and high fashion. Originally built to hold a lady's pocket watch, lorgnette, or fur muff, these highly collectible continuous loops of gold transformed over time into versatile multi-wrap statement necklaces. This example, worked in solid 15k gold rope links, is as strong as it is beautiful. It is fitted with a dog clip that can be worn at the front to suspend a pendant or a few favorite charms, or hidden to the back.
