Antique Sterling Silver double Albert watch chain with Spring ring

The Tbar is stamped with the maker's mark H P for Henry Pope, the most prominent maker of Sterling Silver Albert watch chains in Birmingham. The lion passant guarantees silver purity of at least 92.5%, and the date letter "a" is for the year 1900."

The Tbar is stationary, falling from the center with an extra bit of chain, called the tail, from which a fob could be hung. This is where I have positioned the gold spring ring, but there are many options to explore.

The chain closes with the two nice sized dog clips, showing worn hallmarks. The pair are in good working order.

The Push-In bolt ring (often called Spring Ring) was invented in the 1840s and became highly popular as detachable, versatile clasps on both men's Albert chains, and women's long guard chains.
