A substantial piece of English silversmithing history — this heavy double Albert curb watch chain is as wearable today as it was over a century ago. Chunky, graduated curb links with a satisfying weight and presence, this is the kind of chain that commands attention without trying. I love the way the slinky curb liks follow the curves of the neck!
Every curb link bears the Lion Passant, the hallmark guaranteeing English Sterling silver of at least 92.5% purity. The T-bar is additionally marked with the Lion Passant, a date letter, and maker's mark H.P. — placing this piece firmly in the English silversmithing tradition, circa 1910.
The two dog clips are a matched pair, each marked with the Lion Passant, and are secure and in very good condition. Note: these clips are fixed rather than swivel-style.
