A classic Sterling Silver double Albert chain with T-bar and Medal from the height of popularity in Victorian England.
The link is a tight curb, each marked with the lion passant which guarantees the silver is at least 92.5% pure, the standard for Sterling Silver.
The Tbar is stationary and central, the two sided medal falling from the center as well on an extra bit of chain. The two pendants make a strong statement along with the bold 6mm curb links.
The Tbar is stamped with the maker's mark H P for Henry Pope, the most prominent maker of Sterling Silver Albert watch chains in Birmingham. The lion passant guarantees silver purity of at least 92.5%, and the date letter "a" is for the year 1900.
The chain closes with the two nice sized dog clips, showing worn hallmarks. The pair are in good working order.
The medal is two sided and clearly marked. It is actually made another silversmith working at the same time W W C, William Walter Cashmore. He was noted for his high quality Albert watch chains, fobs and award medals.
I have shown the chain also worn with a simple paperclip chain in 18k. I love how this Sterling Silver Albert Chain looks layered with gold. This listing is only for the Sterling Silver Albert chain with Medal.
