Antique Sterling Silver Double Albert Trombone Watch Chain with Extender

A beautifully preserved antique English sterling silver Double Albert Trombone Watch Chain — substantial, sculptural, and very wearable. With its bold elongated links and chunky profile, this is a piece that commands attention while speaking quietly of Victorian craftsmanship.

The chain is hallmarked throughout with the Lion Passant, the definitive mark of English Sterling Silver (925 fine), and bears Maker's Mark CDB. The matching dog clips are stamped STANDARD — an additional English silver purity guarantee confirming 92.5% fine silver content. They hold the chain securely and appear to be original to the piece.

At roughly center sits a stationary T-bar attached to a group of six chubby cable links, adding visual interest and traditional Albert chain character. I have included a near-matching trombone extender (period compatible), allowing the chain to be worn at either 16.5 inches or extended to 19 inches for versatile styling. This chain is wonderful worn on its own or layered with other chains. I have photographed the chain worn at the two different lengths and also layered with another chain. Condition: Very good antique condition. Light tarnish to the center of the T-bar, consistent with age and easily addressed with a soft polishing cloth. All links move freely and the dog clips function securely.
