A substantial piece of English silversmithing history — this heavy double Albert curb watch chain is as wearable today as it was over a century ago. Chunky, graduated curb links with a satisfying weight and presence, this is the kind of chain that commands attention without trying.
Every element bears the Lion Passant, the hallmark guaranteeing English Sterling silver of at least 92.5% purity. The chain and T-bar are additionally bear the marks for the Birmingham assay and date letter for 1914 — a piece of history you can wear every day.
The two dog clips are in excellent working order, providing a secure and reliable closure. A rare find in this weight and length.
I have added, for a bit of fun, a period compatible bolt ring, tassel, and cherub pendant. The addition can be clipped on and off of the dangling bit of chain in the front center.
